Delegate NLS

Delegate to Receive NLS Rewards While Strengthening the Security of the Nolus Chain

Updated over a month ago

Delegate

Delegating NLS tokens is the process by which users earn rewards while contributing to the security of the Nolus network. This is achieved through delegation to a validator. Validators play a crucial role in maintaining the network's integrity. In addition to receiving staking rewards, NLS token delegators gain the option to participate in the governance process, shaping the Protocol's future development

To delegate NLS tokens, choose one of the following interfaces:

Nolus App

  1. Click on Earn in the left sidebar

  2. Next to NLS, click Delegate/Withdraw

  3. In the pop-up window, input the amount you wish to delegate and click on Delegate

  4. View the transaction details and click on Confirm

  5. A pop-up to confirm the transaction will appear in your connected wallet

Keplr Dashboard

  1. Visit the Keplr Dashboard and connect your wallet

  2. Find a validator in the list to whom you wish to delegate and select it

  3. In the pop-up window select Stake

    1. If you have selected a validator among the top 10 you will get a warning to consider making your choice more in favor of decentralization by staking to another validator. You can switch to a different validator or stay with your original choice.

  4. You will get an overview of staking parameters such as the commission, the voting power of the validator, and the unbonding period. Type in the amount of NLS that you wish to delegate and click on Stake

  5. A pop-up to confirm the transaction will appear in your connected wallet

PingPub

  1. Visit the Ping.pub explorer

  2. To ensure that the explorer runs smoothly, connect to the Nolus Endpoint

  3. Click on Staking in the left sidebar

  4. Find a validator in the list to whom you wish to delegate and click on Delegate

  5. In the pop-up window, input the amount you wish to delegate and click on Send

  6. Confirm the transaction in your connected wallet

Important Considerations

When selecting a validator, perform due diligence by considering their bonded amount, commission rate, and uptime. In case of inactivity or malicious behavior, tokens delegated to a validator, including self-delegated ones, might be slashed.

Undelegating NLS tokens from a validator takes 21 days, however, transferring delegation to a different validator is instant. Bear in mind that subsequent redelegation from the same wallet is not possible for the next 21 days
